The album's track were originally created for a theatrical production of Thus Spoke Zarathustra

Laibach have announced a new album entitled Also Sprach Zarathustra their first since 2014’s SPECTRE.

The album is made up of music originally created for a theatrical production of Thus Spoke Zarathustra (Also Sprach Zarathustra) based on Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical novel of the same name which premiered in March of last year. The band updated those tracks for the recording of this record following the play’s premiere last year in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

The band will tour this spring taking in dates in South Korea, Zagreb, Lendava and Poznan ahead of the album’s release on July 14. You can find their upcoming list of tour dates here.

The band will also soon release Liberation Day, a film documenting their time in North Korea in 2015 when they played a number of shows based on the music from The Sound Of Music. You can find a trailer for the documentary below and more information here. Read Ivan Novak from the band’s Baker’s Dozen here.
