London psych-jazz outfit The Comet Is Coming will release their new EP Death To The Planet this Saturday 22 April as part of Record Store Day. To whet our appetites before release, the trio have unveiled a tripped out video for new single ‘Start Running’, streaming above.

As with debut LP Channel the Spirits from April 2016, Death To The Planet will be released via The Leaf Label.

A hypnotic, pulsating video painted and shot by Tilly Mint and Roman O’Toole and edited by visual artist Morgan Beringer, accompanies the meandering, galactic movements of the single.

Speaking of the single and the visual collaboration the band said: "The track sounds pretty fiery, like a crackling and smouldering soundtrack to the apocalypse. ‘Start Running’ seems to us like the arrival of the comet—either literal or metaphorical—and the darkness of that realization, the sadness but also resolve."

"It is also the grit to stand up to adversity, to snap into focus and get moving, to escape or evolve into new realms of possibility. Celestial impacts and explosions are realized in the microcosm of the art in abstract form."
