SoundCloud have added a new mid-price tier of £5.99 to their subscription service, SoundCloud Go.
The service allows users to listen to SoundCloud’s catalogue of music, uploaded by their users, without adverts and offline, both on desktop and via the mobile app, much like the service users will have experienced for free before SoundCloud introduced adverts between tracks.
"SoundCloud Go answers the call from our users who want the ability to take the huge catalog of content found in SoundCloud’s free, ad-supported offering with them anytime, anywhere, without interruptions, at a very affordable price," said chief revenue officer Alison Moore. "And at the same time, we’re now giving users who haven’t made the jump into a music subscription plan, a robust, fully on-demand option at an accessible price."
In order to access SoundCloud’s full catalogue of over 150 million tracks, you have to subscribe to the company’s new SoundCloud Go+ service for £9.99 a month. The moves come as SoundCloud continues attempts to monetise the platform amid ongoing financial uncertainties.
