Jane Weaver will return with a new album this May, entitled Modern Kosmology, and above, you can take a first listen of the lead single, ‘Slow Motion’, right now.
The track is, as expected, an airy slice of cosmic pop, and a perfect introduction to the new album. Her songs, Weaver says, come to her "like fully-formed pictures", with Modern Kosmology having given her the opportunity for the first time to focus uninterrupted on recording a studio album, this marking her sixth record, and a recording process that saw her putting all-analogue vintage machinery to use.
Can’s Malcolm Mooney features on the album, as well as a extended cast of Mancunian drummer and guitarists fleshing out the album’s sound. The album is set for release on May 19, via Fire Records, and she will play live shows at Birmingham’s Hare & Hounds (May 18), Band On The Wall in Manchester (May 19) and London’s Lexington (May 22) in support of the album’s release. Tickets for those shows will go on sale on Friday (February 24) here. You can pre-order the album here.
