Sleeper Reunite

Britpop band return for first shows in 19 years

If you’ve had a deep longing to relive Britpop recently, the news that Sleeper will reunite for their first shows in 19 years might sate that somewhat.

The band will play the shows as part of the upcoming Star Shaped Tour, which will see them tour alongside other bands of the time such as The Bluetones. The tour’s even got a Trainspotting-themed poster to accompany it which you can see below – Sleeper’s cover of Blondie’s ‘Atomic’ featured on the original soundtrack for the film.

The band formed in the early ’90s and released three albums in three years during their time together. They split in 1998 though with the sound falling out of favour. The reunion follows the news that Elastica have been in the studio together recently following two decades apart.
