Trainspotting Sequel Soundtrack Announced

Underworld feature, naturally

Details of the soundtrack for the impending T2 Trainspotting, Danny Boyle’s sequel to his cult film Trainspotting, have now been fully announced with confirmation that The Prodigy have remixed Iggy Pop’s 1996 track ‘Lust For Life’ – the original opened the first movie.

Underworld have also been called up to provide an updated version of ‘Born Slippy .NUXX’, a track which is synonymous with the film, and has been retitled ‘Slow Slippy’ for its new 2017 form. Another new track from Underworld features too and includes a guest spot from original cast member Ewen Bremner who features again in the new film.

Elsewhere, the likes of Fat White Family, Young Fathers, Blondie and a number of others appear on the soundtrack. The film will be in UK cinemas from January 27.

Late last year, it emerged that Oasis did not contribute to the original film’s soundtrack because Noel Gallagher misunderstood Danny Boyle’s invitation and did not want any involvement in a film about trainspotters.
