Polish label Instant Classic has been responsible for a number of our favourite releases this year as well as the occupier of the second spot on our albums of the year list for 2015 in the form of Stara Rzeka’s Zamknęły Się Oczy Ziemi.
Now, to round off 2016, the label will release a 7" featuring two covers from two of their core artists. On one side of the record, Jakub Ziołek takes on Silver Apples’ Misty Mountains turning it into a gorgeous beatless trip with Ziołek’s vocal drenched in reverb amid spacey electronics. You can check that out above.
On the flipside, there is a cover of Faust’s ‘It’s a Rainy Day Sunshine Girl’ by Innercity Ensemble, of which Ziołek is a member. The track also features Jaśmina Polak and retains much of the krautrock spirit of the original. You can check that track out below.
The record, entitled One Louder, is released on December 10 and will be available to purchase here. Its release also marks the fifth anniversary of Instant Classic which the label will be further celebrating at Warsaw venue Pogłos this Saturday (December 10) – details for that can be found here.
