Aphex Twin To Play Field Day!

Headline set, first live show in years, will be a UK festival exclusive

With rumours circulating over the weekend after a number of flyers appeared around London hinting at an appearance from Aphex Twin at next year’s Field Day, it has now been confirmed that he will play the festival as a UK festival exclusive on June 3.

Richard D. James will headline The Barn, a brand new state-of-the-art indoor main stage arena, with a rare two-hour set. The Barn is described by Field Day as "a gigantic hanger-like construction with a state of the art high-powered sound system and one of the most technologically advanced lighting rigs around."

Speaking about the announcement, Field Day co-founder Tom Baker says: "It’s truly amazing to have Aphex Twin headline Field Day. I’ve been listening to him since I was 16 and he played and curated some of the first ever Eat Your Own Ears nights (the most memorable being a warehouse on Brick Lane that got closed down by the police!)"

Many more acts are set to be announced for the festival, which will mark its 11th year in 2017, over the coming weeks and months. Tickets go on sale this Thursday via Ticketweb at 9am. For more information, click here.
