With the news coming through on Monday that London’s fabric would reopen under a new set of licensing conditions, following an agreement between the club, Islington Council and Metropolitan Police, the club has shared a fifth transparency statement outlining their intentions for the more than £300,000 which was raised in support of the club.
"We envisage having a substantial surplus due to the overwhelming support that’s been shown to us and these residual funds will be used to help other worthy causes within the industry, including Phillip Kolvin QC’s pursuance of licensing reform which he is currently championing," reads the statement.
The club said at the beginning of its campaign that it would hope to influence lasting change for all clubs and venues with a reform of the Licensing Act 2003. There will also be a new artwork installed inside the club with those who donated to the cause asked to keep an eye out for further details soon of what shape this will take exactly.
