Secrets Uncovered In Blackstar Vinyl Artwork

Hint about the artwork was dropped in interview earlier this week by the sleeve's designer

Earlier this week the designer of the vinyl sleeve for David Bowie’s final studio album, Blackstar, dropped a hint during a BBC 6 Music interview that there were a number of secrets hidden within the art.

Earlier this year, it was discovered that if you expose the sleeve to light, it uncovers the image of a galaxy. Designer Jonathan Barnbrook had gone on to tell 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs last weekend that: "Actually, there’s one big thing which people haven’t discovered yet on the album. Let’s just say, if people find it, they find it, and if they don’t, they don’t. And remember what Bowie said about not explaining everything."

One of those features was discovered earlier this week with one owner of the vinyl finding that if you expose the artwork to blacklight, the design changes to a fluorescent blue colour, as shown in this tweet.

As SPIN reports, the latest secret to be discovered involves angling the artwork at walls or the ceiling, with the artwork revealing a star reflection when exposed to light, according to one person. Another told SPIN that on one side, you appear to get a reflection of a bird in flight, while on the other it is a spaceship. You can check out a photo of that below courtesy of SPIN reader Robert Matthews.
