Richard Hell Remakes Album Nearly 30 Years After Its Release

_Destiny Street_ given makeover 27 years later

Punk-rock legend Richard Hell has remade Destiny Street, the final album he made with The Voidoids, 27 years after its original release.

The new version will be released on September 1.

Hell told The Guardian: "At the time of the original recording I was so debilitated by despair and drug-need that I was useless.

"The record ended up being a high-pitched sludge of guitar noise. It was a shame because the songs were clean, simple, and well-constructed, but those values were sabotaged by the inappropriate arrangements and production."
