Throat singer Tanya Tagaq has announced the release of a new album with a track from it, entitled ‘Aorta’, available to listen to above right now.
The album, entitled Retribution, is her first since 2014’s Animism, a favourite in the tQ office. Retribution is billed as an "even more musically aggressive" and politically-minded album than her last, seeing her link a lack of women’s rights the world over to a lack of respect for our planet as well as to a lack of Indigenous rights. The album closes with a cover of Nirvana’s ‘Rape Me’. It is set for release on November 18.
