Brighton-based musician Kemper Norton will release his third full-length album on Front & Follow, his second for the label, next month. You can stream ‘Black Silk’, taken from the album, above.
On Toll, Norton initiates a shift from remaining located in specific rural locations and the city, venturing offshore to explore themes of vengeance, destroyed communities, the perils of nostalgia and the myth and the concept of home.
Blending ambient, drone and folk music, Norton tells the story of a collision between the lost Cornish kingdom of Lyonesse and the 1967 sinking of the Torrey Canyon oil tanker, both located in the same stretch of ocean off the west coast of Cornwall. Toll is out August 26. To find out more, click here.
