Radiohead have begun the process of transferring their back catalogue from Parlophone to XL Recordings, as a spokesperson for the label has announced.
As The Guardian reports, speculation had surrounded the band’s catalogue since Monday, when fans noticed that a number of B-sides and rarities had been removed from streaming services. All albums up to and including Hail To The Thief were also attributed to XL on streaming services.
XL says that Radiohead’s “main albums” are now being made available in their original form, while “non-LP material is reconfigured”. Spotify have explained this as a change in rights ownerships of the band’s catalogue, which follows on from their relationship with XL and the Beggars Group dating back to the release of Thom Yorke’s 2006 solo album The Eraser as well as the physical editions of Radiohead’s last two studio albums In Rainbows and The King Of Limbs.
It’s unknown how or when Radiohead will release their ninth studio album but it’s expected very soon, the band’s five members having recently established a new company called Dawn Chorus LLP, a move that they made ahead of the release of their last two albums also.
