Glastonbury festival’s Emerging Talent Competition have announced the longlist for this year’s prize. Of the thousands of acts that entered, 120 have been picked out by a judging panel of online music writers, including the Quietus’ Laurie Tuffrey and Rory Gibb. These will then be whittled down to a shortlist, with the eventual winner decided at live finals taking place next month. As well as a slot on one of the festival’s main stages, the winner will get a £5,000 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize and two runners-up will each receive a £2,500 PRS award.
After much tea and copious amounts of biscuits, Laurie Tuffrey picked LIINES, Lucy Leave and Mad Alice, while Rory Gibb chose Sophie McGrath, Mamatung and She Drew The Gun.
