Bowie Anthology Plans

Source close to Bowie before his death says he had planned the release of a number of anthologies for after his death

It has emerged that David Bowie made plans for a set of anthologies to be released after his death with the first set for a 2017 release.

As Newsweek reports, Tony Visconti told Rolling Stone that Bowie had been planning a new album shortly before his death and had written and recorded demos of at least five songs. While confirming that there was no Bowie memoir or book, Newsweek reports that a source close to Bowie said there is “a long list of unscheduled music releases that Bowie planned before he died.” The releases, the source says, are set to be divided into certain eras of his career though they will not necessarily see release in chronological order. It is not known whether these will contain previously unheard work from Bowie, however past re-releases have.
