Bright Sparks, an album and film that aims to document the stories of early electronic music pioneers, launches today. You can check out the film’s trailer above.
The concept was birthed as a tribute to the various people and companies that had been involved in the early days and development of the synthesiser with I Monster approaching vintage synth curators Dave Spiers and Chris Macleod to help on the project with the use of some of their best synthesisers. Recruiting representatives from various companies such as Moog and Arp, and enlisting interviewees such as Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory, Underworld, Nine Inch Nails’ Alessandro Cortini and Daniel Miller among others, a film looking at the development of the instrument was then also produced. You can buy both the film and album here right now.
