This Friday, Marek Zebrowski and David Lynch’s Polish Night Music gets reissued on vinyl via Sunday Best. Above, you can now watch Zebrowski and Lynch perform music from that album in a recent live appearance.
The collaboration came about from a meeting between the two at the Camerimage Film Festival in Lodz, Poland, with the pair beginning to work together while Lynch was working on his movie Inland Empire. Zebrowski served as a translator for the shooting of several Lodz-based Polish scenes in the film but upon discovering that the pair shared a mutual interest in musical experimentation, they began working together on music in Lynch’s Los Angeles studio, eventually leading to Polish Night Music. “(Poland) is a landscape that continues to remain at once familiar and completely alien to me,” Zebrowski explains of the album. “Every time I am there, I am surprised by something, and I think for David, Poland certainly represents the process of discovery.” You can pre-order the album here.
