Screensaver is a monthly live broadcast that brings a variety of musicians to Peckham’s Bussey Building, broadcasting four hours live from each party with each party offering Funktion One sound to those in the room and an impressive display to those watching at home via YouTube, thanks to an extensive set-up of microphones and cameras. Last month’s party brought viewers a performance from jazz experimentalist Albert Newton, among others, and above is the 15-minute edit of that performance, put together by the team behind the night.
“Those guys didn’t even soundcheck, they just showed up and did that,” says Jordan Copeland, one of those involved in organising Screensaver. Other clips from May’s edition of the series include performances from Hello Skinny and Zombie Zombie. The next event takes place at Bussey Building on June 13 featuring sets from Cherrystones, Mimika Orchestra, Soccer96 and more. Other guests performing over the next few months include Archie Bronson Outfit, Golden Teacher and Gum Takes Tooth.
