Bradford’s celebration of independent music and arts, Threadfest, has announced details of a warm-up gig including tQ faves Giant Swan. For anyone who can’t wait for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and Threadfest to roll around the Bradford Playhouse will play host to Giant Swan and Sheffield trio Blood Sport, with No Hands DJing, on May 1.
Threadfest has also shared a special edition of The Mirrored Hammer mixtape which you can listen to above. New artists added to the event include Bradford group Hameed Brothers Qawwal, one of the UK’s first performers of Islamic Sufi devotional music, Mob Rules, Sophie Cooper, Local Improvisors as well as the man known as the “Bradford Nick Drake”, Gerrard Bell-Fife. They join a line-up including Circle, Richard Dawson, Vision Fortune, Drunk In Hell and tQ’s own John Doran, with Årabrot’s Kjetil Nernes. The event will take place at the Playhouse and early weekend tickets, priced at £27, are still available from the festival website.
