Viv Albertine Announces New Book

Former Slits guitarist's as-yet-untitled second book due next year

Viv Albertine has announced plans to publish her second book. While the title of has yet to be announced, it has been revealed that her latest work of non-fiction writings will be available at some point during summer 2016. The book will see Albertine discussing her views on art, fashion, sex and feminism, as well as exploring the journey from youth to middle age, and follows on from the end of her memoir, Clothes Clothes Clothes, Music Music Music, Boys Boys Boys, published by Faber & Faber last year. Lee Brackstone, Albertine’s editor, said: "This book is less a memoir and more a window on the world as Viv sees it today. Publication of Clothes Music Boys was another milestone and its success has created a landscape for Viv that she is keen to navigate in her own inimitably fearless fashion".

Writing about Albertine’s first book, tQ’s Rhian E Jones described it as "both full-frontal and alarmingly discreet", going on to say: "Her narrative is driven not by the childish desire to shock but the unwillingness to let self-consciousness dictate one’s self expression."
