WATCH: New Daniel Lanois Video

Daniel Lanois follows up on the release of last year's Flesh And Machine with a video for album cut 'Burning Spear'

Brian Eno collaborator and protégé Daniel Lanois made a significant step out as a producer and musician in his own right late last year, following decades of background production and engineering with Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan and Eno, among others, with the album Flesh And Machine. Now, he is sharing the video for album track ‘Burning Spear’, available for you to watch above.

The video is part of a collaboration between Lanois and The Modern School of Film entitled Flesh And Machine…The Films. He and Robert Milazzo of The Modern School of Film enlisted a number of carefully selected filmmakers to create visual accompaniments to each track on the album with The ‘Burning Spear’ video directed by a long-time collaborator of Lanois, Adam CK Vollick. Lanois and Milazzo will next look to find a number of “undiscovered” filmmakers and artists to contribute to the project, selecting three of the best films from these submissions to feature alongside the aforementioned videos. All of the details for that project can be found here. Daniel Lanois will tour Europe throughout April with a date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall set for April 14. Tickets for that show are on sale here.
