Jane Weaver, author/performer of one of tQ’s favourite albums of 2014, The Silver Globe, is back with a flurry of activity this spring – including this new video. The promo, featuring North-Western voodoo, working men’s club skulduggery and healthy dollop of 70s underground glamour is the backdrop for killer pop song, ‘Don’t Take My Soul’ – like an ABBA video filmed by David Peace with a hangover.
The track is out as a split single on March 30 and features Cardiff’s Tender Prey (aka Laura Bryon) on the B-side with ‘Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Of My Heart’ ripped from the forthcoming Organ Calzone album/cassette released later this year. Weaver is also releasing a special edition of The Silver Globe which features four brand new songs, three exclusive instrumental themes and three rerecorded songs, with the input of Tom Furse, Andy Votel and PJ Philipson.
