Noise purveyors A Place To Bury Strangers return with the release of their fourth album, Transfixiation, next Monday, February 16, and you can listen to it above right now, seven days ahead of its release. The New York-based band’s usual, dissonant earmarks can be heard throughout this latest effort, another work in which noise prevails over everything. The album’s release, via Dead Oceans, follows previously-released singles ‘Straight’ and ‘We’ve Come So Far’, with the self-produced Transfixiation marking the recording debut of drummer Robi Gonzalez with the band. Of the album, frontman Oliver Ackermann recounts how the band hit a wall after immediately setting to work on it following two years of touring. "It got to be too much, where we – or at least I – almost had a meltdown or something. I felt like we had to stop, and I wasn’t even sure if the album was going to get finished or if we were going to be going friends again." After two months passed, Ackermann pieced together various sessions to complete the album.
