WATCH: The Stupid Set/Snowblitz DJ Video

Italian disco masters release live performance video from 1981

Fine purveyors of 80s nu-disco and electronica releases Opilec Music have given us a look at a previously unavailable video used by Italian cosmic disco pioneers The Stupid Set & Snowblitz DJ during live performances. The 34-minute long ‘Psychodisco’ is a bizarre sequence of stills from old-tech computer games intercut with stencilled Aztec gods, evaporating water droplets and what look to be old housekeeping adverts. To say it’s a mind-bending experience would be something of an understatement… Take a look above.

Snowblitz, aka Flavio Vecchi, made his name in Italian underground house music clubs in the early 80s, while The Stupid Set were part of the burgeoning Italo disco scene, releasing an eclectic output through classic label Italian Records until 1983. ‘Psychodisco’ will be released alongside an eight-track I-Robots re-edit package and Snowblitz DJ remixes single on January 19 via Opilec.
