Pariah Publishing Austin Collings’ New Book

The Myth Of Brilliant Summers due in November

Founded by Jamie Lee, lead singer-songwriter of M O N E Y, PARIAH PRESS is a new independent publishing house based in Manchester. Named in homage to the classic work of excess and enlightenment, Under The Volcano by Malcolm Lowry – who once drank a whole bottle of olive oil thinking it was hair tonic – PARIAH say they, "seek to establish an alternative vision – a wild and memorable departure from conceit and mediocrity – based upon our considered selection of authors."

Their debut publication, entitled The Myth Of Brilliant Summers, is a collection of stories from tQ contributor Austin Collings and will be out in early November. Collings previously co-wrote Renegade: The Lives & Tales of Mark E Smith with the man himself.

The title has already been praised from writers John Healy (The Grass Arena) and Daniel Woodrell (Winter’s Bone) among others, with The Observer columnist Kevin Mitchell adding: "The working class have a new literary hero."

Take a look at a disquieting trailer for the stories above. Pre-orders are now being taken for an exclusive price of £7.99 from the PARIAH PRESS website for a limited time only, while the Quietus will be running a feature on The Myth Of Brilliant Summers closer to the publication date.
