Singer-songwriter Jane Weaver is previewing the release of her upcoming fifth solo album, The Silver Globe, with the track ‘Argent’ and it is now streaming above. It’s equal parts sprawling space-rock and psychedelia and features a sax solo from Cybotron’s Steve Maxwell Von Braund. The Silver Globe, meanwhile, is out on October 21 through Weaver’s own Bird Records, via Mancunian label, Finders Keepers. It comes from various sporadic studio sessions of Weaver’s since 2010’s The Fallen By Watchbird LP. The album features co-production from David Holmes and also takes in guest appearances from Hawkwind (appearing in sample form), Damon Gough (otherwise known as Badly Drawn Boy), pianist Suzanne Ciani and husband and leader of Finders Keepers Andy Votel. Jane Weaver plays Festival Number 6 this weekend.
