London-based electronics producer Cyrus Shahrad, aka Hiatus, has just released a new track, ‘Precious Little’, in aid of the humanitarian organisation Medical Aid For Palestinians, currently working to support medical staff on the ground in Palestine – for full details, head to their website.
Set around a plangent piano sequence, ‘Precious Little’ is a beatless evolution of Shahrad’s work on his last two albums, 2010’s Ghost Notes and Parklands from last year, nodding to their heavy sub-bass and acoustic samples, with a pair of violins seeking out a closing harmony underpinned by low-end rumble. Says Shahrad: "I’m releasing this track to raise money for Medical Aid For Palestinians, an organisation currently engaged in a humanitarian effort to help innocent people caught in a terrible crossfire. The track costs £1, but please give more if you can, and please do share the link around." Get hold of the track, alongside Hiatus’ previous releases, from his Bandcamp.
