Electronic music stalwarts Warp are heading to Poland this September to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. The label have joined up with acclaimed avant-garde collective Sacrum Profanum to takeover Krakow for a series of events.
The two have conjured a line-up packed with idiosyncrasies. Squarepusher will begin the week with an all-new live show featuring the Sinfonietta Cracovia on September 14, followed by the London Sinfonietta and Mira Calix playing Warp Works And 20th Century Masters, a collection of interpretations of Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Steve Reich and Gyorgy Ligeti.
The label will also be hosting their 25th Anniversary party on Saturday 20 June at the Forum Hotel in Krakow. It will feature a number of artists’ only performances of 2014: Battles will play their first show in three years, Autechre will perform for the first time since 2011, Hudson Mohawke emerges from the studio having worked with Kanye and Drake, and with the likes of Bjork-collaborator LFO, Rustie, Plaid, Darkstar, patten and Bibio also playing rare and individual sets, it’s promising big things. Tickets are on sale Monday, June 16 at 10am CET; head to the Warp 25 website for full details.
