Roll The Dice – Until Silence from Roll The Dice on Vimeo.
Roll The Dice, the Stockholm-based electronic duo of Peder Mannerfelt and Malcolm Pardon, recently announced the imminent release of their third full-length album. Titled Until Silence, it’s the follow up to 2010’s self-titled kosmische-inspired debut and 2011’s broader, harsher In Dust, and will be released through the Leaf Label in June. The album expands further still on its predecessor, leaving behind overt signifiers to the duo’s influences and instead crafting widescreen, fully-fleshed out compositions. Their set up remains based around pulsating synthesisers and piano, but for the album they’ve enlisted a full 26-piece string section, and the electronic tones are often starker and noisier, bearing traces of Mannerfelt’s great recent solo excursions on Digitalis. As with the release of their last full-length, ahead of the album they’ve crafted a suitably ominous, dread-filled trailer to give a taster of what sort of mood to expect. You can watch it via the embed above.
The duo will premiere the album live at Sonar Festival in Barcelona this year, which runs from 11th-13th June. For more information, click here to visit the Roll The Dice website, and read our 2011 interview with the duo here.
