One of the best pieces of news to burnish 2014 was the announcement of Wild Beasts’ new album, Present Tense, out on February 24 via Domino. On the same day the first track, ‘Wanderlust’, is also getting released as a four-track digital EP, featuring a new song, ‘Byzantine’, and remixes from ambient electronics man The Field and Quietus favourites Factory Floor (both are included on the bonus 12" that comes with the deluxe LP edition of the album). We’ve got a first play of the latter, a wholesale dismantling of the original, which only lets skewed clutches of the vocals and synths stutteringly re-emerge over a typically frenetic, densely rhythmic workout – have a listen below and head here to pre-order the album:
