The Glasgow-based Broken20 label has had a great 2013, with label boss TVO’s Red Night Variations – a collaborative effort with Covered In Sand – recently placing on the Quietus’ albums of the year list. TVO also played an excellent live set at our Colony vs The Quietus party in Hackney Wick back in September, and the audio of that show is available for your listening perusal here.
Broken20’s latest release has come from Semtek, the boss of London-based house and techno label Don’t Be Afraid, who’ve had a similarly solid year, releasing acclaimed 12"s from Detroit’s MGUN, Mr. Beatnick and more. Semtek’s EP is a dark, scuzzy broken house affair, tripping into the decayed, drone-ridden territory Broken20 has become known for. You can listen to and buy the entire Nagual EP, which also features remixes by Debukas and Votive, via the Broken20 Bandcamp. We’re pleased to be able to offer you an exclusive download of the Debukas dub remix of the title track, an alternative version to the one that features on the EP itself – listen via the embed below.
