Following last week’s announcement that Pixies would be headlining the Sunday of the newly two-day-long Field Day festival, taking place in London’s Victoria Park from June 7-8, the first batch of names for the Saturday have now been announced. Headlining will be FD stalwarts Metronomy, who’ll be joined by a rafter of Quietus favourites: Omar Souleyman, Jon Hopkins, Daniel Avery, James Holden, Oneohtrix Point Never, Danny Brown and Jessy Lanza. Also on the bill are Fela Kuti’s former band, now led by his son Seun, Egypt 80, Warpaint, John Wizards, Sky Ferreira, Money, Dusky, George Fitzgerald, Dixon and Ame of Berlin electronic label Innervisions and The Temper Trap. For tickets, head here and stay tuned for further updates; in the meantime, have a listen to a new episode of Field Day Radio with FD co-founder Tom Baker talking to Metronomy, along with cuts from Souleyman and Hopkins, below, and head here to read us revisiting some of the highlights of our time running the festival’s Village Mentality stage.
