Steve Gullick Celebrates 20 Years of Alternative Photography with Exhibition

kurt-cobain-1993.jpg

From Nick Cave through to Jack White via Kurt Cobain, Steve Gullick has photographed all the leading and most interesting figures of the last two decades of alternative music " and now this is being celebrated in a new exhibition called Tenebrous.

The show runs from April 2 to May 13 at the Rough Trade East shop in Dray Walk, The Old Truman’s Brewery, near Brick Lane in East London and will feature iconic and groundbreaking portraits and live shots of artists like Ed Harcourt, The Raconteurs, Sonic Youth and Kim Deal.

Each of the images will be available to buy and is limited to a run of 25 prints.

Recently This Is Nowhere had the pleasure of going out on the lash with Steve and recorded the ensuing conversation – which will be available as a podcast as soon as the hangover has worn off.

For a gallery of pictures (including exclusive shots of experimental bluesman Duke Garwood and awesome French duo John and Jehn) and full podcast of Steve’s hilarious (and sometimes moving) recollections of bands such as The White Stripes, The Jesus Lizard and Nirvana visit the site on Monday.
