London club night Abattoir has, until recently, been a peripatetic beast, wandering from venue to venue both north and south of the River. Now, though, they’re setting up home for a series of events at the excellent Dalston Superstore, and have made us a YouTube to go with it. The mix, selected by Elena Colombi, is a showcase of the finer, fruitier things in electronic music, from disco to techno and house to EBM that’ll be aired at their next party, on Friday, November 22nd, including two tracks by electro/Italo enthusiast Ali Renault, who’ll be playing on the night alongside Rufus & Bambi, Dick & Fanny and Cromby. You can find full details over at the Facebook event page here and RA event page here
Ali Renault – ‘Shnin’ (Sansicario EP _ Vivod 004
Spacey disco on space cake. Released a couple of months a go on Ali Renault’s new label Vivod. B-side very nice too
Bicep – ‘Feel My Bicep’
Forthcoming on Feel My Bicep Records. My favourite is ‘Snackbar’.
ItaloJohnson 7 – ‘A’
Straightforward dry drums, soft and dreamy bass line. And the vocal..
Paranoid London – ‘Eating Glue’
Very Abattoir…
Matthew Herbert – ‘Pump’
Pumping house from the genius of Mr. Herbert
D.A.F. – ‘Alles Ist Gut’
Pure German darkpunkelectrowave sexiness.
Human Resource – ‘Dominator’ (Frank De Wulf # 1 Mix)
The one and only dominator!
Transform – ‘Transformation’
When this was released in 1993 i was in my teens and i remember staying up late to record – on cassette – the best tracks passed on the friday night show of the local radio. A classic melter.
Ali Renault – ‘Our World Is…’
One more track from our guest Ali Renault. I absolutely adore it, just perfect.
Doctor’s Cat – ‘Feel the Drive’
When the night finishes and all you want to do is hug a sweaty stranger in front of you
