Borderline Films At Hackney Picturehouse

Pioneering U.S. production company set for retrospective, along with Southcliffe all-dayer, at east London cinema

The excellent New York film production company Borderline Films are set to have their first UK retrospective, beginning this week at the Hackney Picturehouse.

As well as screening three of Borderline’s feature films, opening with the newly-released Simon Killer on August 30, followed by Martha Marcy May Marlene (August 31) and Afterschool (September 2), the Picturehouse will also be showing all of the episodes of the recent Channel 4 drama Southcliffe, directed by Borderline’s Sean Durkin, back-to-back on September 1.

Durkin and his fellow Borderline founders Antonio Campos and Josh Mond will be flying over from the U.S. to introduce the films, as well as taking part in Q&As following the screenings.

Say the Picturehouse: "The trio of highly talented friends that make up Borderline are at the cutting edge of American independent cinema, producing stunning shorts and features that have won acclaim on the international film festival circuit and numerous awards. Fast becoming cult favourites amongst cinephiles, Borderline produce edgy, haunting and distinctively stylish films that linger in the mind long after viewing."
