This autumn, a new presentation of Joy Division’s music, Live_Transmission: Joy Division Reworked, will be going on its first tour, taking in an 11-date run of shows in the UK.
It’s a collaboration between the 45-piece Heritage Orchestra, visual artist Matt Watkins, electronics man Scanner and a core three-piece of Three Trapped Tigers’ Adam Betts and Matt Calvert and Ghostpoet’s John Calvert, who are dissembling and re-presenting Joy Division’s back catalogue for an entirely new audio-visual show.
Say the people behind Live_Transmissions: "This is a performance that promises to respect the ground that it dares to tread whilst venturing into new cross-genre artistic territory."
They performed it in May at Sydney’s Vivid LIVE festival (where the hyper-prolific Heritage Orchestra played their cover version of the Blade Runner soundtrack) only its second performance after it was debuted at the Brighton Dome last year. Robin Rimbaud, for Scanner is he, has kindly put together an edit of that show as a means of previewing what you can expect – have a listen below with the tour dates following and tickets available here:
