Sound experimentalist and founder of the Idiosyncratics label, Räumm, and producer Maze have teamed up to create the minimal industrial project Orphan Swords.
Their debut EP, DANTALION/RAUM is a slow-building, intricately-layered exploration of heavily processed synths, voices, tape loops, feedbacks, drones and beats. Each track on the EP builds to a staggering crescendo of ear-shattering, gritty noise and techno-driven beats.
As well as the two tracks, ‘Dantalion’ and ‘Raum’, the EP also contains a remix of the latter by Gnod’s master of electronics, Chris Haslam, who has reworked the original’s atmospherics into an altogether different beat-heavy machine.
