WATCH: Deerhunter Concert Film

Full-length film of 2010 set in Nebraska

Deerhunter Sunday Redux from John Albrecht on Vimeo.

A full-length film of Deerhunter’s 2010 set at the Bourbon Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska has just been posted online.

The film, Deerhunter Sunday Redux, was directed by John Albrecht and mainly draws on tracks from Halcyon Digest, their album from that year, and 2008’s Microcastle.

Talking about the film, Albrecht says: "The performance was filmed on Easter Sunday 2010 (explaining some of Bradford’s stage banter, like ‘He is risen’). Now it’s more of an artifact. The crew and I wanted to capture the performance in a way that mostly avoids crowd shots and instead reveals a dynamic between the band members themselves – on unspoken connections beneath the lyrics or music. It’s shot with a variety of formats, down to a VHS camera mounted on a jib and a flip camera gaff-taped to Moses Archuleta’s hi-hat (that angle was never used)."
