New Årabrot Album: Further Details

New album stems from "evenings of pious Christianity [that] followed days of hard labour in the soil, playing mind games with the devil"

After a lupine video and a first single, we’ve now got further information on the new Årabrot album.

Their sixth LP will be self-titled and released by Fysisk Format on August 19.

Again, Serena Maneesh’s Emil Nikolaisen is on recording and mixing duties and plays bass and backing vocals, with other contributions coming from Lasse Marhaug and Erland Dahlen.

Says the text accompanying the announcement: "A pastoral Swedish countryside where time has stood still for generations, where evenings of pious Christianity followed days of hard labour in the soil, playing mind games with the devil […] Inspiration from early 20th century surrealists like Georges Bataille and Robert Desnos, mixed with a fascination for the mythologies of ancient Greece and the Old Testament."
