Pere Ubu have announced that they’ll be using their headline slot at East End Live as a "proving ground" for their next album.
Speaking about their set, which will be taking place at St. John on Bethnal Green, Pere Ubu’s David Thomas called it: "a major new work, which promises to be the proving ground for songs for the beginning of the next Pere Ubu album, which is tentatively entitled Beep Fiction. We are excited."
The band will be playing a live soundtrack to the vintage horror flick Carnival Of Souls, with support coming from London three-piece Bob Constant & The Goodbye Horses – have a watch of their new video ‘The Laughter Track’ below:
Also on the bill for East End Live, taking place on July 13 across various different east London venues, are East India Youth, Teeth Of The Sea, Grumbling Fur, TOY and more; for full details and tickets head to their website here.
In the meantime, stay tuned to the Quietus for more coverage of Pere Ubu later this week.
