Owiny Sigoma Band Announce One-Off Gig

Band play Village Underground in August

The excellent Nairobi/London seven-piece Owiny Sigoma Band have announced that they’ll be playing a set of their ace Afro-tech cuts at the Village Underground in London on August 1.

They’ve just come off touring with Atoms For Peace, having released their second album Power Punch in April, an awe-inspiring collision of Luo folk music with UK techno, which we called, "an album that pushes their ever-evolving sound into unexpected directions", in our review.

Get hold of tickets for the event, which has support from Boiler Room’s DJ Thristian and as-yet-unannounced special guests here, and watch the new video for album cut ‘Magret Aloor’ above.
