Blimey, you wait for a new album and then… Franz Ferdinand have announced their fourth album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (artwork above), will be released by Domino on August 26.
They started working on the record in 2010, one year after the release of their previous LP Tonight, finally laying down the tracks last year in frontman Alex Kapranos’ studio in Scotland, Nick McCarthy’s finely-named Sausage Studios and Club Ralph in London, as well as spots in Stockholm and Oslo.
Says Kapranos of the album: "The Intellect Vs The Soul, played out by some dumb band", so go and ponder on that one while listening to the album trailer below:
