Yesterday, Supernatural Cat, the label run by Malleus Rock Art Lab, featuring two members of Ufomammut, released the debut self-titled record (artwork above) by self-defined redneck metallers Zolle.
It’s pretty much as ferocious as you’d expect an album which features an idolised image of the Mayan pig face on its front cover and has redneck appropriations of Italian – "’Heavy Letam’ is suggestive of ‘letame’, which means ‘manure’ in Italian, resulting in an anagram of ‘heavy metal’," explains the press release – for its songs titles would be. Add in the fact that Urlo from Ufomammut and Roberto Rizzo from Quasiviri/Runi make appearances on synth, and you’ve got a very interesting proposition – have a listen below:
