WIN: Tickets For Colleen At Cafe Oto

The excellent French multi-instrumentalist is playing Cafe Oto next month in support of her new album, and we've got two pairs of tickets to give away

In the next instalment of his ace Rockfort column, David McKenna will be focussing on the new album, The Weighing Of The Heart, by French multi-instrumentalist Colleen. It’s out next Monday, May 13, via Second Language, and you can listen to excerpts from the LP below:

Colleen will be playing live in support of the album on June 8 at Cafe Oto, who have this to say about the record: "The combined influences of Arthur Russell, Moondog, Brigitte Fontaine and the musics of the African continent loom large in her new work, and the live show will be a direct reflection of this new direction, offering an absorbing fusion of the delicately spun and the rhythmically persuasive, embracing a pastoralism that is both lyrical yet rooted to the earth; at once hazily baroque yet accessible and universal."

For more details about the gig, head over to the venue’s site here. However, we’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away to a couple of readers. To be in with a chance of winning e-mail your answer to the following question to comps@thequietus.com, with COLLEEN in the subject line, by midday Tuesday 4 June.
