Next Monday, March 4, Stereokill Recordings are releasing Distant Drums (artwork above), compilation tribute album in memory of Simon Worrall, drummer of Manchester band Paris Angels, who died unexpectedly in 2011.
The album is set to feature a one-off track, ‘Saturday Night’, by Mani, MC Tunes and Spencer Birtwistle and one of Worrall’s favourite songs, The Sun And The Moon’s ‘Death Of Imagination’, re-recorded by members of that band/The Chameleons, Mark Burgess, John Lever, Andy Clegg and Andy Whitaker – have a listen to four tracks from the album below:
All proceeds from sales of the album will go to Hector’s Care Chair Fund, a charity benefitting the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity set up by Clint Boon and his son Hector. For more details, head to Stereokill’s website here.
Additionally, following last year’s Paris Angels reunion gig and a set at the Un-Peeled Festival, the band are producing new material, and have signed a deal with Stereokill, who state that we can expect new releases next month.
