Last week, Headphone Commute released a huge digital compilation of current ambient, electronic/experimental and modern classical music to benefit those affected by October’s Hurricane Sandy.
Entitled … And Darkness Came, the compilation features 87 tracks – many exclusive – from a wide variety of artists. It costs $10, runs for over 6 hours, and includes music from the likes of Room40 boss Lawrence English, excellent Kranky signed ambient/dub explorer Loscil, Max Richter, Dustin O’Halloran of A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Robin ‘Scanner’ Rimbaud and many more – an impressive list of names.
Proceeds from the sale of the compilation will be donated towards two charities – Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and The Humane Society.
