Girls Aloud Announce Greatest Hits LP & Tour

Girl group reunite for tenth anniversary, with a best of on the way and a 2013 tour

Girls Aloud will be returning from an extended break for a 2013 tour, preceded by a greatest hits album, to celebrate their tenth anniversary [via the BBC as we weren’t invited to the sodding press conference].

The group, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, announced the plans at a press conference in London this morning, exactly ten years since they formed for TV show Popstars: The Rivals.

Roberts said: "It’s worked out really nicely that it’s our 10th anniversary year. It was meant to be."

"We were all getting dressed together this morning and it all just felt really normal, like nothing’s changed," said Cole, while Walsh added: "We’ve all been out there on our own for the last few years and we’ve all thrown ourselves in at the deep end on different things, so for most of us it feels so comfortable to be back together."

The 12-date tour will begin in February in Newcastle with two-night stays there and in London, Manchester and Glasgow.

The album, Ten, is set for release on November 26, and will feature four new tracks, recorded in secret earlier this year. These will include their upcoming Children In Need single, ‘Something New’, released on November 18 – have a watch of the video below, with the tour dates following:
