This autumn, BBC 6 Music is getting down with a whole load of programmes to do with the Velvet Underground as Lou Reed turns up to present a series of programmes called ‘Lou Reed’s New York Shuffle’. Is that not a Transformer lost track about tossing off a tranny? Anyway, as well as Lou’s series, there’ll be special VU programming, including exclusive tracks, The First Time with John Cale (this Sunday at midday) and a Now Playing Velvet Underground Special on the same day. ‘Lou Reed’s New York Shuffle’ is on BBC 6Music on Sundays midnight to 2am.
