Spookey Ruben Set For Next Outer Church

Canadian oddball headlines, playing an acoustic gig and screening films, along with set from Strangers From Birth

The next installment of Brighton’s monthly event Outer Church will see prolific Canadian musician/filmmaker Spookey Ruben top the bill, with support from equally bonkers synth outfit Strangers From Birth.

Ruben will be playing an acoustic gig and screening several episodes of his Dizzy Playground series, featuring Feist, Ariel Pink and John McEntire of Tortoise/The Sea and the Cake, as well as his horror-musical magnum opus Puzzleface, featuring none other than Ken Russell portraying God starring opposite Voivod’s Snake.

The word on the grapevine is that Russell’s widow, Lisi Tribble, may be there for a Q&A session, though we can’t confirm this yet.
